Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman/Assistant Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the design and drafting of steel components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role involves critical tasks in drafting, data management, and assisting with CNC operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Data entry of sizes, lengths and quantities into nesting software
  • Transferring drawings and sketches from PDFs to CAD, SolidWorks etc.
  • Output files from applicable programs to CNC saws, plasmas and lasers
  • Light clerical and organization duties
  • Creation of detailed 3D drawings for production
  • Assist the Chief Engineer and Plasma Manager however needed
Job Requirements
  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • College level education or job experience in CAD and/or related software
  • Experience with 3D CAD programming (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Fluent in Excel
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade school preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (dimensions, tolerances, etc)
  • Strong mathematical skills, including measurements, fractions, decimals, and unit conversions
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot drawing issues
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others
