Rebar

Rebar, short for ‘reinforcing bar’, is a round metal bar with a textured surface of lugs which assists in bonding better with concrete. Rebar is used in reinforced concrete and masonry structures to provide greater resistance to tension and increase structural strength. It is used in bridges, skyscrapers, foundations, concrete parking stop blocks, warehouse floors, and more. Rebar is sized by number, in eighths-of-an-inch for the bar’s diameter, for example, #3 = 3/8" or #6 = 6/8" or 3/4".
