New BLM LT8 Tube Laser

August 31, 2026

Coosa Steel has expanded its tube laser cutting capabilities with the addition of a new BLM LT8 tube laser at our Rome, Georgia facility. The LT8 joins our existing BLM LT7, giving Coosa Steel two industry-leading tube laser systems and increasing both the range of material we can process and our overall production capacity.

The investment allows us to better serve customers ranging from fabricators needing a small number of custom parts to OEMs requiring repeatable, high-volume production. With two BLM tube lasers available, our team can route each project to the machine best suited for its size, geometry and production requirements while maintaining the same standards for precision and part-to-part consistency.

Expanded Capacity for Larger and Heavier Profiles

One of the biggest advantages of the LT8 is its ability to process larger and heavier tube and structural profiles.

With the addition of the LT8, Coosa Steel's tube laser capabilities now extend to round tube up to 9.45 inches, square tube up to 8" × 8", and material weighing up to 27 pounds per foot, along with rectangular and specialty-shaped profiles.

That expanded working range opens the door to projects that exceed the capacity of many standard tube laser systems while allowing our LT7 to continue efficiently processing a broad range of conventional tube applications.

Complex Parts in a Single Automated Process

Tube laser cutting can replace several traditional fabrication operations by creating complex features directly in the material with a high degree of repeatability.

Our BLM systems can produce holes, slots, notches, angled cuts, copes and other complex geometries while precisely cutting components to their programmed dimensions. Features that might otherwise require sawing, drilling, punching, measuring or additional setup can often be incorporated directly into the laser-cut part.

For customers, this can mean fewer secondary operations, less manual layout and handling, more consistent parts and less fabrication time downstream.

Built for Repeatable Production

The LT8 doesn't replace our LT7—it expands what our overall tube laser department can accomplish.

Having both systems gives Coosa Steel greater flexibility to handle short-run custom work and high-volume production simultaneously, while reducing scheduling bottlenecks and helping us maintain the fast turnaround our customers depend on.

Both machines provide the precision and excellent motion repeatability BLM equipment is known for, so customers receive consistent parts regardless of which system Coosa Steel determines is best suited for the job.

From a Sketch to Finished Parts

Customers don't need a fully developed manufacturing file before contacting us. Coosa Steel can work from a simple hand sketch or a SolidWorks STP file, and our team can develop the drawing and programming required to manufacture the part using BLM's ArTube software.

With the LT8 now operating alongside our LT7, Coosa Steel continues to invest in advanced steel-processing technology that helps customers reduce fabrication time, improve consistency and get high-quality parts into production faster.
